      This gives the idea of

            The maiden

            Is given in marriage.

            Good fortune.
            \n<\/span><\/p>\n

            Perseverance furthers.
            \n<\/span><\/p>\n

            1. The development of events that
              \n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              leads to a girl’s following a man to his home proceeds slowly.
              \n<\/span><\/p>\n

              The various formalities must be disposed of before

              This principle of gradual development can be applied to other situations as well;

                  if lasting results are to be achieved.

                  Gentleness
                  \n<\/span><\/p>\n

                  • that is adaptable,
                    \n<\/span><\/li>\n
                  • but at the same time penetrating,
                    \n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                    is the outer form that should proceed from inner calm.<\/span>

                    makes it necessary to have perseverance,

                    • its development influences the landscape of the entire region.
                      \n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                      It does not shoot up like a swamp plant;
                      \n<\/span><\/p>\n

                      its growth proceeds gradually.
                      \n<\/span><\/p>\n

                      Thus also
                      \n<\/span><\/p>\n

                      the work of influencing people can be only gradual.
                      \n<\/span><\/p>\n

                      No sudden influence or awakening is of lasting effect.
                      \n<\/span><\/p>\n

                      Progress must be quite gradual, and
                      \n<\/span><\/p>\n

                      in order to obtain such progress
                      \n<\/span><\/p>\n

                                                • rest and movement are in agreement with the demands of the time,

                                                    The hexagram signifies the end and the beginning of all movement.

                                                    The back is named because in the back are located
                                                    \n<\/span><\/p>\n

                                                    all the nerve fibers that mediate movement.
                                                    \n<\/span><\/p>\n

                                                    If
                                                    \n<\/span><\/p>\n

                                                    • the movement of those spinal nerves is brought to a standstill,
                                                      \n<\/span><\/li>\n
                                                    • the ego, with its restlessness, disappears as it were.
